Dr. Gladston Xavier is a former Dean of Arts and Professor of Social Work at Loyola College in Chennai, India. He is actively engaged in conflict transformation and peace building at the national and international level and works closely with the Organization for Eelam Refugees Rehabilitation, a self-help organization that supports Sri Lankan refugees. He has also consulted with numerous agencies engaged in disaster relief and sustainable development, including the United Nations, OXFAM, and Christian Aid. Former Vice Chair and current Board Member of Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network (APRRN), he is currently a Professor of Social Work in Eastern Mennonite University, West Virginia.  He has been working  for the rights of refugees in Asia Pacific, including Afghanistan for more than 20 years.
